In the summer of 2023, I recorded this soundscape in the municipality of Uruará, in the state of Pará, Brazil, located in the heart of the Amazon Rainforest. The recording reveals a rich diversity of birds and insects. While the Amazon offers unparalleled acoustic opportunities, field recording in the region presents logistical challenges, ranging from vast distances to limited access. Furthermore, the density of the local biodiversity makes the acoustic isolation of a single species a complex undertaking, due to the intense overlapping of forest sounds.
